DB Spares
Building a Bespoke Job Management Platform
The Project
DBSpares repair domestic appliances for customers in their homes and also to businesses. DB are a highly successful business located in the Eastbourne and operating throughout the local area, but also extending services to Hastings, Battle, Bexhill, Hailsham and Seaford.
Operationally they have relied on a paper based system for the booking in of jobs, work quotations, spares ordering and payment reconciliation. As the business has grown, these systems have become increasingly error prone.
The Challenge
Commissioning a bespoke web application was an opportunity for DB to find increased efficiency and eradicate any errors in their processes in order to achieve a smooth and seamless service to their customers.
As with any project we run it is essential for us to understand our clients' requirements and have a full consultation to form how we can best help their business to achieve their aims and goals. Firstly, we began by finding out exactly how DB operate, how they envisaged using the software and where their operations could be improved.
The Solution
Our web development team began the project by building workflows and our web designers created designs in Adobe XD. Throughout the process we built the functionality and specifics to the brief to create the web solutions that DB required and to the specification for the build of the project.
Functionality
Web development functionality for the project includes:
- Booking of jobs for individual customers.
- Booking of jobs for landlord owned properties.
- Scheduling jobs with particular engineers.
- Highlight jobs that have specific needs regarding job time & urgency.
- Offline functionality for engineers to fill out forms on their mobiles.
- Management table to allow for Landlord clients & properties to be moved around
The Results
DB now have the custom-built platform exactly built for their business requirements incorporating the functionality they needed to make their business work more efficiently, saving them time and money. We have built a job management platform that allows them to organise their jobs and the flexibility to manage and allocate jobs as appropriate throughout their business.
